MyHome Scheme

The Malaysia’s Government has set RM30,000 as the maximum financial assistance for the public to purchase low-cost houses under the MyHome Scheme Malaysia. With a total of RM300 million had been allocated for the scheme.

Under the scheme, qualified private sector developers will receive an up front incentive of RM30,000 per affordable home sold where the incentive would cover the 10% deposit required of buyers after the sales and purchase (S&P) agreement is signed.

A 10-year moratorium would apply from the effective date of the S&P agreement, prohibiting a buyer from re-selling or transferring ownership of the home.

The scheme is expected to benefit two categories of households. 

MyHome1 is open for households with an income of between RM3,000 and RM4,000, MyHome2 is for those with a household income of between RM4,001 and RM6,000.

Houses under the MyHome1 would cover a minimum of 800 square feet of space with a market price of between RM80,000 and RM120,000 in the peninsula and between RM90,000 and RM120,000 in Sabah and Sarawak.

MyHome2 prices would range between RM120,001 and RM200,000 in the peninsula and between RM120,001 and RM250,000 in Sabah and Sarawak for homes measuring a minimum of 850 square feet.
 
MyHome2 houses will have three bedrooms and two washrooms as well as basic amenities such as parking spaces, a community hall, a surau and a playground.
 
Interested buyers must be Malaysians aged 18 years old and above who are buying a property for the first time.

The following copy of documents must be included with the application:

1. Copy of Applicant's NRIC
2. Copy of Applicant's Husband/Wife NRIC
3. Copy of Applicant's Children NRIC/MyKid/Birth Certificate
4. Copy of Payslip/Income Proof of Husband/Wife (or both if both are working)
5. Copy of OKU Card (If Applicable)

Android 4.4 KitKat on Samsung Galaxy S3?

Several weeks ago, Samsung reported to be rolling out the Galaxy S3 Android 4.4 KitKat update in the United States. Shortly after that, Sprint confirmed that it would be rolling out the update to its customers.

Here is the list of Galaxy S3 models which may receive the KitKat OS update: GT-I9305, SHV-E210K/L/S, SGH-T999/L, SGH-I747, SGH-N064, SGH-N035, SCH-J021, SCH-R530, SCH-I535, SCH-S960L and SCH-S968C.

Android 4.4 KitKat update may not be available for all the models of Galaxy S3 as some of them come with only 1 GB of RAM, which may not be able to handle KitKat include international models: GT-I9300, SCH-I939 and SCH-S968C.

I am the GT-I9300 owner which falls into the 2nd category of 1GB RAM. Will Samsung really going to drop the updates for us.

Well....last option for me is to get a custom ROM.

Any suggestion on which one should I choose from the below?




Among the advantages of this ROM, in addition to the numerous and timely updates, are improved battery notification, profiles and themes, and the ability to overclock




Among the novelty of this ROM is the possibility to optimize battery life by creating profiles.

 

Is Online Banking Safe?

Yes. Online banking is absolutely safe to do online and is done by millions daily. Below are some of the different ways to keep online banking safe.

 

Visit bank by typing the address

Many ways attackers get into someone's bank account is by tricking a user into thinking they're logging into their account when their really not. This technique is known as phishing and is often done through e-mail, where it informs you that you need to change your online information, verify a purchase, or something else that would want to make you log into your online account through a link in the e-mail. In reality the link points to a fake page that logs your account information.

This attack can be avoided by never clicking on a link to visit your online bank. Instead if you need to log into your bank always visit it through a bookmark you created in your browser or by typing in the URL.

Make sure the page is secure when entering data

Any time you visit a web page that is encrypting information a small lock () will appear either in the bottom corner of the window or next to the address bar and the URL will start with https:// instead of http://. If you do not see this all data is not secure and anything you enter into the page could be captured and read by someone.

When you visit your online bank login page verify you see this lock and your security image before entering your username and password. If you do not see this, do not log into the page.

Never send usernames, passwords, etc. through e-mail

No bank will ever request for you to send personal information over e-mail. Never send your username, password, TAC, account information, credit card over e-mail or SMS. E-mail is unencrypted and if intercepted by a third-party could be read.

Use a strong password

What this means is that it shouldn't be something easily guessed such as your date of birth or names of your immediately families. Your banking password should have alphanumeric, special character, and different capitalization.

Make sure your computer is protected

It's always a good idea to keep your personal computer protected, when an attacker attacks or infects a computer they could install a key logger that logs each keystroke you enter into a computer to capture your confidential data.

Day Trip to Cameron Highlands 05 April 2014 - Part I

Cameron Highlands is about 1500 metres above sea level and situated on the Titiwangsa range and has four main towns (Kampung Raja, Tanah Rata, Tringkap and Brinchang); Annual temperature is about 18 °C (64 °F). During the day, the temperature seldom rises above 25 °C while at night, it can drop to as low as 9 °C. 

Exploring Cameron using Simpang Pulai route take less than 90 minutes. The route is straightforward thus making it less dangerous to drive on.

EPF I-Akaun On Google Play

The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) account holders who have registered for an i-Akaun earlier can now use their smartphones and tablets running on Android 2.2 and above to check their EPF balance as well as access other useful tools(EPF Calculator & latest news).


The EPF calculator, which allows you to estimate your total EPF contributions from both you and your employer in one year, or even find out how much can you withdraw from your EPF account to pay for a property down-payment or investment funds. 
  

The EPF I-Akaun was developed in-house by KWSP that its free to download from Google Play Store EPF I-Akaun.
